About David

LHav I really hate having to write ‘about me’ sections, because I am always afraid of sounding terribly boring. But I really should, because why on earth would you trust my judgement if you don’t know anything about me?

My name is David (obviously) but you can call me Dave. In fact, I would prefer it. Let’s just get that out of the way. I am a happily married (well, Civil-partnered) gay man who resides somewhere in the south of the UK. I like Pina Colada’s and getting caught in the rain.

So why the blog?

Well originally it just started out because I was bored one Saturday night. I’ve been reviewing sex toys for a few years now, at Lovehoney – a UK based online adult retailer. I then decided it might be a good idea to collect those reviews on to my own blog – a place where I can write a bit more freely about my experiences with toys. I never expected anyone would ever actually find the blog, or even read it. But people did find it, and people did read it – and in a little over 8 months, we’ve had over 66,000 views and over 17,000 visitors. We made the Kinkly Top 100 Sex Blogger Superhero’s list – an incredible achievement considering we’ve not even been around for a year. 2015, i’m coming for the Top 50, so you better watch out!

A little more about me and what I like. When it comes to sex toys, I will generally try most things. When it comes to masturbation and masturbators, I tend to find that I have a preference for strokers (things like Fleshlights etc) although I have had my eyes opened to the wonders of vibrations, thanks to the likes of the PULSE by Hot Octopuss etc. For full disclosure, I am 6 x 5.5. If you can decode what that means, than bravo! When it comes to insertable toys, I am a massive fan of glass/metal dildos. I have a few silicone as well. In terms of dimensions, the most I am comfortably able to take is anything with an 8 inch length and a maximum circumference of about 5.5 inches.

So that’s the sexy stuff out of the way…

elphieTell us more about you!

OK, well if you insist…

I live with my husband and our year old pug called Elphie – who is a little madame – although this does mean that trying to take photo’s for the blog does require extra work because there is ALWAYS PUG HAIR floating around. I love to cook, love chocolate and Lego. So if you really want to make me happy, either bake me a cake or give me some chocolate or Lego and we will be friends FOR LIFE.

Why do you have affiliate links on your blog? Are you just trying to scam us for money?!

No! Absolutely not. Running and maintaining a blog like this can be expensive – with hosting, product costs and time it takes to produce a review – it all adds up. I have affiliate links on my blog, so if you decided you liked my review, or you like the blog and the work that we do, then you could show your appreciated by making any of your purchases through the affiliate links found within the blog. I only earn a small commission from your purchases, and all that money goes towards the blog – whether it’s purchasing new products to review for you, or purchasing new equipment or paying for hosting costs etc.

Sometimes, we do receive products for free in exchange for honest reviews. I just want to point out that any reviews posted on this blog, regardless of whether there is an affiliate link or not, will always be my honest, genuine opinion. But, what I will say – the experiences and thoughts are mine and mine alone. What hasn’t worked for me, may work for you – and vice versa. Everybody is different and reacts differently to different types of stimulation – so really, only you can make up your mind whether a product is right for you.

Well I think that will do for now, and this will probably end up being rewritten in a few months time – but hopefully that gives you a bit more of an insight into who I am and I hope that you will continue to read and enjoy the blog – because I certainly enjoy running it!

All The Best,

Dave
